St. Paul's beloved German institution, the Glockenspiel, has announced on its Facebook page that its doors will close for good this Wednesday. From the announcement:

"To our Glock Family and Friends,

At no surprise to us, we received a notice on 10.29.2015 from our Landlords the CSPS SOKOL MN that they will not renew our current lease that expires 12.31.2015. They want to negotiate a 6 month lease, which we are not interested in. Our last full day of business is today 11.22.2015. We will OPEN THE BAR ONE LAST TIME WEDNESDAY 11.25.2015 FROM 3:00-10:00. We are saddened to have to do this, but to continue to reach our personal and professional goals. You have been our friends and family for so many years, and want to THANK YOU so much for all the good times and the patronage. Glockenspiel catering and concessions will continue out of the Meat Market- Deutschland Meats in Lindstrom."

"The Glock" was known for its great big platters of traditional German preparations of handmade sausages and equally big steins of beer.
