Amazing croissants (even better looking than these) now available from Bread Star Rising at Midtown Farmers Market
After gaining a croissant-based following at May Day Cafe and honing her bread-making skills at the Nicollet Island Inn, Margaret Chamberlain is bringing her unique array of baked goods to Midtown Farmers Market.
She'll have items from her business, Bread Star Rising Boulangerie, for sale at the Tuesday markets (3-7 p.m.) from now until the end of August. Here are more details on the breads and pastries she'll have for sale:
In addition to her famous croissants and classic French baguettes, Chamberlain will sell traditional and whole wheat par-baked pizza crust, brioche buns, Jewish rye bread, lavash crackers, cinnamon raisin sourdough, and various breakfast pastries.
These are all handcrafted, labor-intensive loaves that Chamberlain has made from her own recipes, using all organic ingredients, including local eggs and Hope Creamery butter.
"My goal is to have a place where Minneapolitans can get good bread at a fair price," Chamberlain writes. And though she won't be the only bakery at MFM (Courageous Crumbs and Rebecca's Bakery also spring to mind), the variety of breads she offers is definitely unique to that market. Oh, and the croissants are well worth the trip.
