Border Battle Beer Festival settles lineup

Border Battle Beer Festival settles lineup

In a battle of hops and malts, purple and green, cheese and... uh, lutefisk, Minnesota and Wisconsin brewers will head off against one another for the Border Battle Beer Fest 2. On September 7 at Somerset Amphitheater in Wisconsin, eight breweries from each state (16 in total) will be pitted against each other while sharing tasty brews, converting unbelievers, and representing the growing and varied local brew scene. Last year, awards went to Rush River Brewing Co. for the People's Choice with southwestern Minnesota's Brau Brothers claiming a Golden Firkin. Who is likely to bring home the prize this year?

In addition to beer samples galore, the festival involves live music from Walker Fields and the MTVs, camping, and numerous games, and live entertainment in addition to the beer focus.
