Kingfield Market fans will recognize Anne Rucker's lovely little fried confections from her Bogart Loves Bakery stand, and now her delicately flavored gourmet donuts have found their forever home. Rucker has just signed a lease to open a new little donut and coffee shop in south Minneapolis.

Bogart's will be moving into what was once Amelia's Flower shop near the corner of 36th Street and Bryant Avenue. The shop will be open Tuesday through Sunday, though specific hours are still being sorted out.

Rucker only just signed the lease this week, so she's still in the early phases of the process. She does plan to have the shop certified Kosher. "So, no, there won't be any bacon donuts," she said. We'll just have to make do with all the other wonderfully tender fried bits of dough. (We prefer ours stuffed with that wonderful vanilla bean-spiked pastry cream.)

Rucker will also be selling locally roasted coffee, a special blend just for Bogart's. "[From] Roundtable Roastery," she said. "Their new roastery is opening any day now in St Paul. No espresso, just one selection of coffee. Pretty excited about the coffee."

We're all hoping to see an open sign hanging in her doorway sometime this spring.
