Blue Door celebrating first anniversary this week

Crowds have been thronging to The Blue Door since Day 1, and for good reason. Even when you're waiting an hour for a table, shoulder-to-shoulder with strangers in the small restaurant space, the place still manages to feels inviting, and service is friendly and welcoming. And then there's the food ...

If you haven't been back to The Blue Door in a while, this week's a great time. The St. Paul burger joint is celebrating a year in business with great deals on their fantastic grub all this week.

We're probably most keen on Wednesday's special, when the restaurant will feature a special "Blucy," (the Blue Door's take on the Jucy Lucy) called the "Granny Apple Bliss Blucy," described thus: "We stuff silky smooth brie cheese in the middle of our burger and top it off with a sweet, delicious granny apple compote!"

That's not all though. Today and tomorrow, Happy Hour specials last all day, meaning two bucks for an order of fries or tots, three for tap beers and glasses of wine, and more. Thursday there'll be five buck Jiffy Burgers (a CP fave, with peanut butter, bacon, and pepper jack cheese) and a "special firkin" of Surly. And Friday -- the restaurant's actual anniversary -- will feature two-for-one Blucys!
