We, like the rest of the known universe, take our morning macchiato very, very seriously.
Come between it and us before 10 a.m., and you just might find yourself on the wrong end of a smackdown. So, lucky for us, and for you, the coffee industry is churning out pros who take coffee even more seriously than all of that.
This weekend marks the Specialty Coffee Association of America and the Barista Guild of America US Coffee Championships, and just in case any smackdowns do ensue, it's being held in Northeast's Uppercut Boxing Gym.
Think three full days of caffeine-fueled competitive fun, with barista, brewer's cup, and latte art contests, along with plenty of free samples, Friday and Saturday 8:15 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 8:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Come watch national and local competitors cup, foam, grind, and Chemex their way to perky greatness, and get your caffeine buzz on.
Find out more or watch the competition unfold on a live webcam by visiting the US Coffee Championships website.
