Beer of the Week: Badger Hill's Traitor IPA

This week's beer of the week is Traitor IPA from Badger Hill Brewing. The beer is a new offering from Badger Hill and comes courtesy of Michael Koppelman, the brewery's new partner and head brewer.

"Michael is passionate about ales and IPAs and this is his inaugural beer with Badger Hill," says co-owner Brittany Krekelberg. "We are using Citra, Centennial, Cascade, and Galaxy hops. American malts too, but an English yeast, which is where the name Traitor comes from."

In style, the beer is a West Coast IPA with a citrusy bouquet and a lemon zest to the flavor profile. The sharper citrus notes are balanced with a creamy mouthfeel that gives way to a soft and dry finish with something of a bitter linger. It's a very smooth beer that starts out light and builds in bitter units (70 IBU) as the beer goes down.

Traitor is a year-round beer both in bottles and on draught and can be found on tap at, among others, the Happy Gnome, Acadia Café, and the Beer Dabbler Bullpen.
