Beer of the Week: Bad Weather Brewing Company's Ominous

This week's beer of the week is Bad Weather Brewing Company's Ominous, an American strong ale made with American, English, and Belgian malts that has a sweet, oaty flavor and a generous percentage of alcohol to warm you on cold nights.

Pouring dark brown with a foamy cap that sticks around while you drink it, Ominous is complex but well-balanced. Its intense, dark fruitiness pairs well with braised meats and stews, Emmental cheese or fondue, and makes a great dessert beer for cakes or tarts with nuts, dates, or plums. 

Ominous is currently on tap at Acadia Cafe in Cedar-Riverside, Stout's Pub in Falcon Heights, and as a guest beer at Northbound Smokehouse Brewpub, where it's highly recommended you order with a cup of smoked beef chili.
