Last year's event set-up
Courtesy St. Paul Winter Carnival
Next to the incredible array of ready and waiting food trucks, the promise of a big cash prize for finding the medallion, and the annual Saintly City Cat Show, the Beer Dabbler event is a highlight of the winter carnival, and deservedly so.
On January 26, the Beer Dabbler returns to Lowertown St. Paul, but this time around the whole operation has nearly doubled in size. More breweries, more activities, and more stages for live music all mean a more exciting way to keep warm than standing under a heating lamp.
Tickets for the Fourth Beer Dabbler Winter Carnival go on sale online and at a select few locations tomorrow. Here are more details on the event and when and where you can pick up tickets.
This year's event will feature more than 100 breweries, with samples of more than 300 beers. As if that isn't enough, there will also be a serious home-brew contest hosted by Northern Brewer, a silent disco (a DJ has a play list that you can tune in to and jam out on with your own set of headphones), and the presentation of the Lord Dabbler Cup, which goes to the best brewery as determined by a popular vote of festival attendants.
Tickets are $35 in advance or $45 on the day of the event, but be forewarned -- this thing sells out every year. Starting at 8 a.m. tomorrow, you can purchase tickets online
, and by noon you'll be able to purchase them (cash only) at the following locations:
The Beer Dabbler Store, 1095 W. Seventh St., St. Paul
Thomas Liquors, 1941 Grand Ave., St. Paul
