If you're a beer nerd, this is a weekend of amazing events, new beers, tap takeovers, and, most likely, a ringing headache come Monday.
Endion Station Public House, owned by Fitger's Brewhouse parent JTA company, opens in Duluth today. Locally, Tin Whiskers will premiere its new Parity Pilsner and is also showcasing a new all-nitro in-house Black & Tan.
On Saturday, the popular All Pints North takes place at Bayfront Festival Park in Duluth, and down south, Mankato Brewing hosts a Mankato Fringe Preview at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available on the brewery's website. In Minneapolis, the New Belgium Tour de Fat comes to town to offer unique beer, bikes, and all manner of eccentricities.
On Sunday, Sociable Cider Werks is hosting the NE Brewer's Block Party, with special local beers from nearby breweries, including a public debut of a Fair State Brewing recipe. (The Fair State beer was brewed at Sociable Cider Werks, as they are not yet up and running.) There will also be live music, food trucks, cider, and Norseman spirits.
Schell's Brewery has released a sampler pack containing four hefeweizen recipes in honor of its signature wheat beer turning 30 this year. The 1984 recipe (which is included in the package) was the first U.S.-produced wheat beer since Prohibition. Schell's also just unveiled the new hop-forward lager Arminius, which is available in 16-ounce cans.
In taproom food trucks, O'Cheeze (Friday), Simply Steve's (Saturday), and Natedogs (Sunday) will be at Steel Toe Brewing. Summit will feature Rusty Taco on Friday, and Crazy Puppy Gourmet Workshop Food Truck will be outside Burning Brothers on Friday.
