There was a time when not many a diner south of the Canadian border knew what poutine was, much less where to find it.
Mercifully, that has changed over the past few years.

A growing number of restaurants serve poutine around the Twin Cities, with decidedly mixed results.
While most of them are passable, poutine's very construction (fries, gravy, and fresh cheese curds) tends to lose its appeal the more it gets dressed up. Local restaurants have tried their own versions with sliced potatoes, fancy cheese, and strange add-ins, among other missteps. It's certainly still edible, but not the poutine you're looking for.
The Triple Rock, however, has stuck to the very basics, using fries from a bag, gravy that's clearly from a jar, and curds that are tasty, but plain. They throw in some rosemary to mix it up a bit (and add just the right amount of flair), but otherwise, this dish is just how it should be: simple, filling, and delicious -- and only $8.
