How much do you like hot sauce? Are you a hot sauce cultist? Do you have 643 bottles of the stuff in your pantry as we speak? Do you live by the subtle nuances among ghost chiles, habaneros, and Moruga Scorpion? Then it is time to stop wandering around the house, bottles loaded in your little hot sauce holster. Instead, head over to the third annual Heat Up Your Life festival, on Saturday, October 3, from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Bent Brewstillery. Sample artisan-made pepper products including hot sauce, salsa, fresh local hot peppers, spicy komboucha, hot pepper-infused cold pressed juices, and other stuff, too. Also: art, music, and entertainment. And food trucks. Gotta have the food trucks. Free.

Get ready for all the dire warnings: Winter is coming. What does that mean? It means eating heavier, richer stuff. Hotter stuff. A girl can't get through a Minnesota winter on watercress and Saltines. So maybe consider checking out Cafe Zupas, a fast casual, all-scratch soup/salad/sandwich chain, with 10 years under their belt but just now arriving in the Twin Cities. Currently open in Woodbury, they'll be giving away a bunch of stuff during their grand opening celebration, Saturday, October 17, including a free year of food.
The 'burbs are also getting a Masu. Some of the best local Japanese noodles and sushi will land in Apple Valley on Monday, October 5, at 14638 Cedar Ave. They say they're going to expand their noodle menu at the new location, with 16 selections, including abura ramen, a brothless ramen popular in Tokyo, served with toppings and a small amount of a flavored or infused oil combined with soy or vinegar.
