100 Favorite Dishes: No. 71, Quang Restaurant's Pho Thap Cam
Your morning likely involved 12 layers of shirts, three pairs of long underwear, crossed fingers while starting your car, and a silent, somewhat angry vow to move south before next winter.
Instead of cursing yourself yet again for choosing to call this frozen tundra home, remind yourself of the perks -- Pho Thap Cam at Quang Restaurant being one of them. This is just the right noodle soup to lift your spirits and is guaranteed to warm on even the coldest January days.

The Pho Thap Cam is one of the heartier soups at this Eat Street favorite and about as pho as you can get. A bowl of steaming beef broth, sliced brisket, noodles, tendon, tripe, and meatballs is served with a side of bean sprouts, fresh jalapenos, basil leaves, and a lime wedge.
As pho fans know, Minneapolis offers up a number of tasty varieties of the Vietnamese staple and naming favorites can be hard. We like Quang's because their broth is rich, salty and surprisingly filling, their veggies are fresh and crisp, and their tendon to noodle to tripe ratio nears perfection. Top that with liberal portions of tender, bite-size meat and you've got yourself a cold-busting meal.
