Their croissant selection is impressive: coconut, apricot, blueberry, chocolate, and more. But to really knock your socks off, try the almond. We promise you'll fall in love.
It has all the elements of a well-baked croissant: a crispy, buttery outside with a flaky layered inside. The subtle almond filling is sweet, light, and comparable to a pudding, keeping the inside layers moist and soft. A sugary drizzle on the outside holds thin almond slivers in place on top of the croissant.
Trung Nam is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., but if your sights are set on the almond, be there before 11 a.m. All pastries are baked in the morning and once they're gone, they're gone. It'll only run you $3.25, but bring cash -- no credit cards accepted here.
