100 Favorite Dishes: French Toast of the Dead at Chino LatinoEXPAND
Ariella Schreck

Sunday through Thursday, between 10:30 p.m. and midnight, items on Chino Latino's happy-hour menu are so cheap you'd think you'd found yourself in Latin America--seriously, most dishes cost less than a beer. Our favorite is the Pan de Muerto, or French Toast of the Dead, which is made with the sweet pan, or bread, that's traditionally eaten on Day of the Dead, and loaded with sliced bananas and Meyer's rum caramel syrup. Even if you haven't already had that much to drink, you'll probably pick up the plate and lick the last of it up.
