Don your beret, drape your Hermès, and put Edith Piaf on your iPod because tonight is all about “The Louvre and the Masterpiece.” Take a tour and come away a true connoisseur. Show your sketching finesse with Impressionist paintings as your muse. Practice your parlez-vous with help from Alliance Français.
Attend a “Six-Pack” series of six 10-minute talks on artworks featured in “In Pursuit of a Masterpiece,” the MIA’s companion show to the Louvre exhibition. Music by Dan Newton's Cafe Accordian Orchestra.
On Sunday, Nov 8th, the annual showcase called "Women Reign" will feature 5 women songwriters at O'Gara's in St Paul.
This event helps to raise money for the Minnesota Coalition against Battered Women, and helps get information to women about how to be safe and learn about abuse prevention.
Performers are Alison Scott, Rebekka Fisher Band, Jill Holly, The KGB Band and Stephanie Sez.
Doors at 6:30pm with a $5 cover. Music starts at 7:00pm. Free drinks to women from 8-10pm. This event will be broadcasted live on the webcam at www.wimmn.com.
