Between the sparklers, fake champagne, and watching the tape-delay of the ball drop on TV, Western New Year's celebrations have become drab yawn-fests. Minnesota's Hmong community, however, has largely retained its festive and colorful New Year's traditions, despite being thousands of miles from the nation in which they originated.
