Swearin's lack of self-seriousness makes them seem like a group who'd only play for a dozen friends. The scrappy, vaguely bookish indie-rockers out of Philly take cues from '90s fuzz maestros like Pavement and the Breeders, but their songs seem to come so effortlessly that those acts might not be influences at all.
