Now in its fourth year, Open Streets is fast becoming one of the more popular events of spring and summer in the Twin Cities. Each season boasts a series of festivals where a major street becomes closed to motorized vehicles, allowing walkers, skaters, and cyclists to take over in safety. The first happening of 2014 is this Saturday, and features two streets filled with plenty of activities for both grownups and kids. There will be yoga sessions, tap-dancing practice, and even a pop-up rollerskating rink. Folks will be able to take tours of the 37th Avenue Greenway, help paint a mural, watch gardening demonstrations, and enjoy outdoor music and performances.
