Painter Dale Johnson has been teaching at Bethel University for 40 years while developing an oeuvre of figurative, landscape, and abstract paintings celebrated for their vibrant colors; loose, evocative brushstrokes; and bold lines. "Drawing into Painting" includes a selection of such works, as well as Johnson's drawings. His inspiration ranges from the bluffs and woods along the Mississippi River to people of the Dominican Republic; from the ice shanties dotting Minnesota lakes in winter to the vast rolling plains of rural Italy.
