Cover acts in town are a dime a dozen, and bands who add novelty act to their description are usually short lived. Yet somehow Metallagher has managed to thrive when it could easily have morphed into a vague memory from a night of heavy drinking. This is most likely because the act manages to walk a razor-fine line between reverence and humor, homage and parody. That's an odd combination of things, and it even more odd when you consider that we're talking about a band that weaves odes to '80s/'90s heavy metal with Gallagher's very dated brand of standup comedy. But perhaps this is part of the charm, as audiences are taken back to a time before performer went on his infamous racist rant, before Metallica stood up to online pirating, and back when we actually wanted Guns N' Roses'...
