This Sunday, the Loft and Kieran's Irish Pub invite literature lovers to come dressed as their favorite dead writer for a Halloween-themed open mic celebration. The event is earlier in the evening and parents are encouraged to bring their kids before trick-or-treating. This will be the second year for the reading party. Organizer Lorena Duarte has said that the initial inspiration came from other dead poet events that she has been a part of or had heard of over the years, except she wanted to open this one up and make it not a slam, but rather "a fun evening where people can get their literary freak on—literally."
