After graduating from college in Florida, comedian Tom Segura wound up in Southern California with a vague desire to get into standup. "I kind of knew I wanted to do it, but I didn't really know the normal process of doing it," he explains. "It didn't occur to me to show up at a club." Instead he joined the Groundlings improvisational troupe and took classes there. Two fellow students, who were also comics, suggested he try standup and showed him the ropes.
