The Cedar's annual Global Roots Festival helps kick off the fall season with sounds from far-flung spots, stretched across three days and all for free. Monday's headliner is La Yegros (pictured), a.k.a. Mariana Yegros, a Buenos Aires singer-songwriter currently based in France. The group's sound is often a synthesis of trad strains of cumbia and chamamé, edgy alternative pop, electronica, hip-hop, and reggae.
