Though he claims he can't remember exactly how the inspiration struck him, McPherson says he decided it'd be cool to shoot video of Maggie, 2, reenacting Allen Iverson's infamous "we talkin' 'bout practice?" rant.

You know, this one:

Here's Maggie's version:

"I just realized I could do it on Instagram by feeding her the lines," McPherson tells us. "Iverson was one of my real gateways into falling in love with the NBA back in the day."

McPherson says he had no idea the clip would become an internet sensation. Once it did, he started getting excited about possible sequels, but he's since decided to cool it, at least for the time being.

"I think we're pumping the brakes," he says. "I'm not interested in getting sucked into the spiral of trying to top it. This was fun, but I don't want to wake up every day trying to make cute videos with my daughter."

"I mean, I still will, but I think they'll just be for our entertainment."
