U of M American Idol contestant is hot
A Minnesotan might have a fighting chance to be the next American Idol. We might even throw some extra votes her way if she performs in her bikini.
University of Minnesota student and Eden Prairie grad Casey Carlson made it to the next round of FOX-TV's American Idol" in Hollywood after her performance even impressed hard-ass Simon Cowell.
"I have a good vibe about you," said Cowell after she knocked off a few lines from Vanessa Carlton's "A Thousand Miles" during the show's audition episode.
If her cute outfit and hometown appeal isn't enough to win your vote, check out her audition and bikini pics below. Trust us, it's worth the click.

More from the Star Tribune:
The panel was unanimous in keeping Carlson's "AI" dream alive, securing her a trip to Hollywood.
"I'm so excited," Carlson, decked out in cowboy boots and a mostly white sleeveless dress with gray and red accents, told the television audience of many millions. "I can't even believe that it's real right now."
Carlson graduated from Eden Prairie High School in 2006, participated in drama and choir at the school, and is a liberal arts undergrad at the U.
Carlson's father, Vaughn, said that the overall "American Idol" field was narrowed to 50 last week, but he's not free to say how far his daughter has gone in the competition.
Oh and did we mention she was hot? TMZ pulled up some "unbelievably erotic poses" she did for a Campus Girls USA calendar, all in the name of breast cancer research.
