Ponzi schemer Tom Petters is headed for The Big House: the United States Penitentiary in Leavenworth, Kansas. And unless his legal team can pull a rabbit out of its hat and win an appeal, it may be the last address he'll ever have.
He'll be taking up residence in a stone fortress near Kansas City that dates back to 1903, and that at one time or another has hosted legendary convicts including gangster Al Capone's rival, George "Bugs" Moran; Communist Party USA leader Gus Hall; American Indian Movement leader Leonard Peltier; and NFL star Michael Vick, who ran an interstate dog fight operation.
