Teagan Marti fell 100 feet to ground on Terminal Velocity
That net that was supposed to catch 12-year-old Teagan Marti on the Terminal Velocity ride at Wisconsin Dells? When she was released from 100 feet in the air, it was laying on the ground, not 40 feet in the air, as it was supposed to be. She's still in critical condition, and local cops plan to refer the case to the Sauk County District Attorney for possible charges.
Early news reports suggested that the net "failed" and the girl had fallen about 40 ft. But now it appears the girl plummeted to Earth due to human error; there was nothing wrong with the equipment -- it was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Company owner Bill Anderson says that in eight years of operation, this was the first accident on the ride, and the company issued a statement saying it's employees are "praying for the girl and her family."
