The Timberwolves announced today that they will wear retro 1967-68 Minnesota Muskies uniforms for six home games this season.

The jerseys are an homage to the ABA team that only played one season in Minneapolis before moving to Miami.

Though the team will only wear the Muskies unis for a handful of games, the team has repeatedly tweaked its regular garb in recent seasons. Here's a look at how the team's uniforms have evolved since the T-Wolves' inaugural season of 1989-90:

The original look

Clean lettering and a simple, colorful design characterize the team's original threads, which were scrapped after the selections of KG and Stephon Marbury in the '95 and '96 drafts ushered in a new era for the franchise.

The KG years

During this period, the T-Wolves' uniforms featured angular, aggressive-looking lettering and interlocking green-and-black trim. The team had the most on-court success sporting this look, making the playoffs every year from '97 to '04. After KG was traded before the 2007-08 season, it became time for the team's uniforms to undergo a make-over.

The Wolves busied up their uniforms while the team lost tons of games from 2008 through 2010. With the goal, perhaps, of removing the taint of so many losses, the team decided to scrap this look after just two seasons.

The current threads

For the first team in team history, the Wolves' current uniform color scheme doesn't feature any green. As Kenny Wayne Sheperd says, it's just blue on black.
