Susan Gaertner drops out of governor race
As if responding to R.T. Rybak's call for the remaining DFL candidates opposing Margaret Anderson Kelliher to drop out of the race for governor, Susan Gaertner announced the end of her campaign for the seat today. She declined to make an endorsement.
Gaertner was one of three DFL contenders who planned to take on Kelliher after she was endorsed at the party's convention over the weekend in Duluth.
The other two, Mark Dayton and Matt Entenza, remain in the race, along with their hefty campaign war chests.
Gaertner has been the Ramsey County Attorney since 1994 and is the first woman to ever hold the post.
