Supremes: Resignation day?

The current term of the Supreme Court ends today, which probably means that cancer-stricken Chief Justice William Rehnquist will announce his retirement shortly; there has been speculation that 85-year-old John Paul Stevens or 75-year-old Sandra Day O'Connor might step down as well. The NYT and WashPost have stories on the right's preparation for the pending nomination fight.

PS: In a 5-4 decision highlighted by Sandra Day O'Connor's swing vote, the Court today ruled against the posting of the Ten Commandments and other expressly religious displays in public buildings.
