Stupid headline writing tricks
Today's entry comes courtesy of the Newspaper of the Twin Cities, where, in an above-the-fold page one story, a Strib editor--apparently suffering from chronic imagination failure syndrome--cooked up the following headline for a story about auto theft:
A car left running is a thief's invitation Vehicles are easier to steal when they're left running and unlocked. What's more, the owners can face fines.
