St. Paul man denied bail after 18th drunken driving arrest
Paul D. Garay was headed north on Hwy. 61 in Newport on Christmas Eve when he lost control of his 1997 Chevy Cavalier and drove it off the road. Now, the 55-year-old man from St. Paul is spending the rest of the holiday weekend in the Washington County jail pending a Monday court appearance after his 18th drunken driving arrest. Garay's blood alcohol level was about twice the legal limit, according to the state trooper who arrested him. District Judge Thomas Armstrong denied him bail, the Star Tribune reported.
