St. Paul Curling Club finds the once arcane sport is now all the rage

Apparently the phones are ringing off the hooks at the St. Paul Curling Club, thanks to the Olympics, KARE-11 reports.

Everybody knows it's pretty close to impossible to become an Olympic skier or snowboarder if you live here (Lindsey Vonn moved to Colorado, remember?). But Minnesota has all the ingredients needed to produce Olympic-caliber curlers. Earlier this year, we wrote about Allison Pottinger, a 36-year-old St. Paul mom who traveled to Vancouver to represent Team U.S.A. The American curlers didn't medal, but hey, at least they went to the Olympics! Maybe those flooding the St. Paul Curling Club now will get to Sochi in 2014.
