Speeding in Minneapolis is expensive

Okay, so everyone speeds sometimes -- but two of the people recently caught were going more than 90 miles-per-hour! In Minneapolis, a ticket for driving 10 mph over the speed limit costs about $145. Would hate to get the bill for those speed demons.
The 1,294 citations issued were part of a statewide effort to crack down on speeding. Minneapolis teamed up with the Edina, Richfield and Airport Police Departments to catch speeders.
Speeding is not only expensive, it's deadly. It's the most commonly reported factor in fatal crashes, according to the Minneapolis Police Department, and contributes to about 150 traffic deaths and 7,000 injuries each year.
