Save-A-Friend Hotline

Save-A-Friend hotline is a toll-free phone number for K-12 students to call and anonymously alert school authorities to situations involving guns, other weapons, potential violence, or students at risk.

"We are totally committed to making each and every school a place where all students have a safe and healthy environment for learning," says Minneapolis Public Schools Superintendent Carol Johnson.

Joining the Minneapolis Public Schools in supporting the program are United States Secretary of Education Richard Riley, U.S. Attorney B. Todd Jones, Minnesota Attorney General Hubert H. Humphrey III, and Minneapolis Mayor Sharon Sayles Belton.

"By taking the pledge, young people can be active participants in helping to reduce gun-related violence in our community," says Mayor Sayles Belton.

The number to call is 1-877-5FRIEND (1-877-537-4363).
