Rybak wins first DFL endorsement

Three times a charm for Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak. On his second bid for reelection, the DFL finally has his back. Rybak received his first endorsement from the party after eight years in office.

The city's party convention was held this weekend where Rybak received 75 percent of the vote on the first ballot.

So why hasn't Rybak received the endorsement in the past? In 2001, he blocked incumbent Sharon Sayles Belton's bid for endorsement, and then Hennepin County Commissioner Peter McLaughlin blocked Rybak's bid in 2005.

Listen to Rybak thank his supporters at the convention and ask for the DFL to be united in upcoming races.
