Robert Minor allegedly filmed unknowing naked boys in YMCA locker rooms with camera watch
There's a good reason why gyms ask you not to use electronic devices in locker rooms -- namely, there's some real creepos out there.
One of them is allegedly 53-year-old Coon Rapids resident Robert Minor. Though he hasn't been charged with any crimes yet, according to a search warrant executed over the weekend, Minor was in possession of naked images of boys he obtained by filming them in locker rooms with a camera watch.
Anoka County Sheriff's spokesman Paul Sommer says authorities were tipped off to the suspect's activities on February 24 when a 12-year-old boy told his parents that a man had dangled a watch over the cubicle where he was changing clothes at the Andover YMCA.
The incident was reported to YMCA staff who worked with law enforcement in using the club's video surveillance equipment to identify the 53-year-old man.
A search warrant was executed March 2 at the home the suspect shares with his parents. Investigators found a wristwatch with video and still camera capabilities, then obtained a search warrant to go through the suspect's computer. They discovered numerous files of young males in various states of undress from the Andover and Coon Rapids YMCA's, and one other unidentified athletic facility.
Investigators reportedly found other forms of child pornography on Minor's computer as well.
He's currently being held in Anoka County Jail on suspicion of felony counts of interference with privacy and possession of child porn. Charges are expected to be filed tomorrow.
