Rich Stanek faces kitten competition for Hennepin County Sheriff
Check it out: There's this kitten that bets it can get more fans that Hennepin County Sheriff Rich Stanek's 177 fans on Facebook.The kitten also has a separate Facebook page, and a pretty fair lawman's cowboy hat to boot.
"What a fine idea," Fredric Markus writes on the kitten's wall. "The notion of a warm and approachable being in the top job in Hennepin County law enforcement would send a message to the world and to our very diverse friends and neighbors that trust and kindness and nurturance - unconditional love - will keep the peace far better than brute force and a calculating need for supremacy."
The feline is running on the Kitty Disobedience ticket, and has already accused the incumbent of dirty tricks: Conniving with to have kitty's first Facebook page pulled down for alleged contract violations.
