Rena Snyder gags over dead mouse in Target syrup bottle
WCCO treated us all to a scrumptious sight last night before we turned in: A dead mouse floating in the bottom of a maple-flavored syrup bottle from Target. Yummy.
Rena Snyder, who is pregnant, was pouring the syrup on her morning waffles at home in Cokato when she noticed fur and a tail -- and screamed.
Target's been apologetic, but silent on how the mouse may have climbed into the bottle and met its gooey end. We understand. These dead-stuff-in-your-food stories aren't always so cut and dried.
Updated: Target told the Strib: "We are committed to providing high-quality and safe products to our guests. We are taking this incident very seriously and investigating the claim."
In 2006, for example, Ryan Daniel Goff was sent to prison in Michigan for stuffing his Traverse City Taco Bell burrito with a dead mouse, then trying to finagle money out of the restaurant.
That same year, in perhaps the biggest gross-out extortion case of them all, Anna Ayala and her husband, Jaime Plascencia, pulled prison sentences after planting a severed human finger in a bowl of Wendy's chili.
In the WCCO story, Snyder gave no hint about going after Target for damages. But she told the Strib earlier today that her husband has contacted an attorney.
