Media outlets are reporting that Randy Moss was in New Jersey yesterday meeting with the Jets organization.
If the rumor bears out, and the New York Jets pick up Randy Moss on the waiver wire, it will be an epic switcheroo that further entangles Brett Favre's destiny with that of his former team.
Favre came to the Vikings after a disappointing performance with the Jets, which has now been blamed on an injury that the team didn't disclose at the time.
The Jets organization also plays a major roll in the Jenn Sterger scandal. Sterger was a paid sideline reporter for the organization at the time of the sexts that got Favre in trouble. The team has cooperated in the NFL's sexual harassment investigation.
Randy left the Vikings because he didn't like the food. For real.
The Vikings played the Jets on October 11 and got trounced 29-20. The Vikings do not play the Jets again during the regular season, so a grudge match between Coach Brad Childress and Moss will have to wait until
next year 2014 (As Mac Wilson points out in the comments, unless they meet in a Super Bowl).
The New York Daily News reports that the Jets did not put in a waiver claim and denied meeting with Moss on Tuesday.
We should know for sure which team--if any--claims Moss at 4 p.m. today.
