Putting a Price on Best Of
Dan Lacey, winner of this year's prestigious "Best Locally-Generated Blog (Right-wing)" award for his animated Web site Faithmouse, thinks he is incredibly clever. He is selling his award, or a counterfeit certificate purporting to be that award, on eBay.
All I can say is this: If anyone wants the real deal, and not that phoney-baloney certificate that Lacey drew up in his spare time, I snatched it from our ad people before they got around to sending it out. I've got it sitting right here at my desk, and I'm ready to talk turkey. It comes complete with a separate sticky thing you can put in your window, as well as a generous $25 coupon from Fast Frame on any frame, but especially one to put your award in.
Serious bids only, please, to jkaminsky at citypages dot com. And Dan, you are welcome to join the bidding.
UPDATE: There have actually been a couple bids on this thing. So here's what we're gonna do: Post your bids in the comments. High bid now stands at $22.50. Auction ends on Friday at 5:00 p.m. And in case you're wondering, money will be donated, in the name of Faithmouse, to Dan's favorite charity: Planned Parenthood of Minnesota.
