Police release preliminary report on Epic shooting death
According to the Minneapolis Police Department, an "adult male" died following a shooting that took place just before 1 a.m. this morning inside the Epic nightclub in downtown Minneapolis' warehouse district.
No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, which police say resulted from "a verbal altercation."
From an MPD press release:
At 12:56 a.m. Minneapolis police officers responded to a 911 call of a shooting at Epic, 110 5th Street North. Upon arrival, officers found an adult male on the sidewalk. Preliminary information indicates that the victim and the suspect had a verbal altercation inside of Epic. During this altercation, the suspect shot the victim and then fled on foot. The victim was taken outside and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Homicide investigators are on the scene and talking to witnesses. No arrests have been made at this time. The Medical Examiner will release the name of the victim and the nature and cause of death.
