Police are currently in a south Minneapolis standoff with an armed man, according to a Star Tribune report.

Police responded to a 911 call this morning on the 6000 block of Columbus Avenue when a woman reported a friend with a gun in a home who was threatening to commit suicide.

Authorities were unable to talk to the man, so negotiators and SWAT team members are now on the scene. The standoff has led to the closing of E. 60th Street from Portland Avenue to Chicago Avenue. Portland Avenue is still open.

We will update as more information becomes available.
