According to KARE, the incident began when police "were called to the Holiday gas station in the 7100 block of 42nd Avenue [in New Hope] around 6 a.m. on a report of an armed robbery."

The armed robbery suspect was apparently shot by an officer at the Holiday station, but managed to get away in a stolen vehicle.

But the suspect wasn't on the lam for long.

Just over an hour later, "Minneapolis police arrested an adult male with non life-threatening injuries," KARE reports. "He was pulled over at 28th Street West and Humboldt Avenue in a stolen vehicle and was taken into custody. "

According to KSTP, "The Minneapolis Police Department believes the two cases are connected, but that has yet to be confirmed."

2:40 p.m. -- The Star Tribune provides a bit more information about this morning's incident at the New Hope Holiday station, though details remain a bit sketchy:

The sheriff's account says that the suspect confronted the officer about 6 a.m. Friday outside a Holiday Station Store on the 7100 block of 42nd Av. N., in New Hope. It also said "there is evidence" that a gun was fired. The suspect drove away in the officer's personal vehicle. Soon afterward, Minneapolis police found the same vehicle; they arrested a man who had a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. He was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center for treatment, and remains in custody. Neither the officer nor the suspect has been named.
