No Bachmann for president in 2012? She could still be VP
The news this morning about Rep. Michele Bachmann's future political plans really broke our hearts. It appears she has no intention to run for president in 2012, which means our new Palin-Bachmann bumper sticker isn't quite as awesome. One can dream though, right?
The Sioux City Journal asked Bachmann if she had any 2012 presidential plans. While she seems to deny any intentions, she definitely leaves the door open for a pick as a vice-presidential candidate. She could easily pull a Sarah Palin and shoot to super-stardom before having the credentials or bothering to campaign for the top spot first.
From Sioux City:
Additionally, I asked Bachmann if she is being prodded to seek the 2012 presidency, given her growing national profile. She said she has no doubts the GOP will produce a good crop of presidential candidates, and threw out King as a name of interest.
"Steve King is mentioned as a potential nominee. I have a very high opinion of Steve King and his ability, so I would encourage him to consider any position for higher office," Bachmann said.
As for herself, Bachmann said, "Goodness, I've only been in the House for three years, so, no, I'm not considering anything like that."
