Earlier this week, we reported on a house that TV handywoman Nicole Curtis was/is fixing up in north Minneapolis. Neighbors are unhappy that the project slated for her Rehab Addict show has hit a wall. They say construction crews haven't been around in months, and some have seen seedy activity around the property.
Curtis, presumably a faithful City Pages reader, must have caught wind of the story. Though she could not be reached for comment, the HGTV star took to Facebook to respond.
The repeated "irked" mentions are seemingly in reference to our headline, "Neighbors irked by Nicole Curtis's stalled Rehab Addict project." Here's the full post:
The comments poured in mostly from supportive fans who didn't get the veiled reference, but also think cancer's a drag. While it sheds no light on what's happening with the Jordan neighborhood home — and feels dismissive of neighbors' qualms — we can all agree that abusing and neglecting children is a dick move.
After this story went live, Curtis again sounded off on social media. At this time she has not responded to another interview request via Twitter. We'll update the story if that changes, but for now here's Curtis's tweet barrage.
Well, our initial post did note that the house was condemned in 2009. But whatevs.
