AN EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY TONIGHT FOR HENNEPIN AND RAMSEY COUNTIES. IT WILL BE VERY HOT AND HUMID TODAY WITH A RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURE IN THE LOWER 90S. THE HEAT COUPLED WITH HIGH HUMIDITY WILL GENERATE HEAT INDICES THIS AFTERNOON IN THE MIDDLE TO UPPER 90S. THE TEMPERATURE WILL BE SLOW TO FALL THIS EVENING WITH HEAT INDICES AROUND 90 EXPECTED.
A WIND ADVISORY HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY TONIGHT FOR AREAS ALONG AND WEST OF A LINE FROM APPLETON TO NEW ULM TO ALBERT LEA. STRONG SOUTHEAST WINDS AT 25 TO 35 MPH WILL DEVELOP BY EARLY THIS AFTERNOON AND PERSIST INTO THIS EVENING. WIND GUSTS TO 40 MPH WILL ALSO OCCUR.
