Mischke show notes: Sept. 11, 2009

My guest for the entire show today: Nick Coleman, veteran Minnesota journalist and former columnist for the Star Tribune and Pioneer Press.

Coleman did two stints at the Star Tribune, having begun his career there in 1973 before moving across the Mississippi River to become a news columnist at the St. Paul Pioneer Press in 1986. He returned to the Star Tribune in 2003. He left the paper again this year, though you can still catch an occasional editorial page piece.

Coleman has covered politics, local government, out-state Minnesota, media and business, Native American issues, the war in Northern Ireland, six governors and 10 mayors. He has published more than 3,000 columns, produced roughly 300 TV commentaries, and hosted two radio talk show programs. In his 35 year newspaper career, Coleman has worked as a Minneapolis city government reporter, business reporter, Metropolitan Government reporter, out-state correspondent, media critic, editorial page columnist and news columnist.

He's also a cranky, ornery old guy so I'll try and push his buttons and get him a bit worked up today.

Come hear it all "In the Stream."
