Minnesota's 84-year-old skydiving grandma

itemprop

Minnesota Public Radio's Than Tibbetts pointed us to this great story and video out of Cook, Minn. Goldie Knapp, an 84-year-old great grandma, wanted to go skydiving before she died. And this month, she jumped out of a plane and it looks like she had the time of her life.

There's even video proof after the jump.

Go Goldie!

Shireen Schultz, Goldie's daughter wrote the following on the CookMN site:
After visiting and having a nice meal I noticed Mom fidgeting and looking as if she had something on her mind. Out of the blue she said she wanted to talk about something. I asked if she was going to make me cry! She said that I might and in the same breath said, "Before I die, I want to go skydiving!".

There was a gasp in the room... I jumped up with a fist in the air and said, "YES!" Finally I had witnesses to her wishes! Over the years Mom had mentioned this to me.

Mom turned to me and said, "Would you go with me?" and I answered with an astounding, "YES!".

Over the past couple weeks we've looked at websites on skydiving and have watched a tandem jump video. Both of us are excited for July 7th to arrive - the date of our jump with Sky Dive Twin Cities in Baldwin, Wisconsin! Of course we'll have video and pictures of our exciting adventure to share.
