Minnesota Public Radio's Than Tibbetts pointed us to this great story and video out of Cook, Minn. Goldie Knapp, an 84-year-old great grandma, wanted to go skydiving before she died. And this month, she jumped out of a plane and it looks like she had the time of her life.
There's even video proof after the jump.
After visiting and having a nice meal I noticed Mom fidgeting and looking as if she had something on her mind. Out of the blue she said she wanted to talk about something. I asked if she was going to make me cry! She said that I might and in the same breath said, "Before I die, I want to go skydiving!".Video proof:
There was a gasp in the room... I jumped up with a fist in the air and said, "YES!" Finally I had witnesses to her wishes! Over the years Mom had mentioned this to me.
Mom turned to me and said, "Would you go with me?" and I answered with an astounding, "YES!".
Over the past couple weeks we've looked at websites on skydiving and have watched a tandem jump video. Both of us are excited for July 7th to arrive - the date of our jump with Sky Dive Twin Cities in Baldwin, Wisconsin! Of course we'll have video and pictures of our exciting adventure to share.
